The 5 Best Arsenal Players For FPL 2023-24

Fantasy Premier League is back! The Premier League kicks off on Friday 11th August and the following day Arsenal host Nottingham Forest in the early kick-off.

Arsenal have a very strong set of opening fixtures from a Fantasy Premier League perspective and only being allowed to select 3 of their players is hard.

Luckily, we’re here with some FPL Tips to help you decide which Arsenal players you should select for your team.

The 5 Best Arsenal Players For FPL 2023-24

As part of our Guide To FPL 2023-24, here are our top 5 Arsenal player picks for Fantasy Premier League.

Aaron Ramsdale (£5.0)

At just 5.0, he seems to be underpriced when you consider the likes of José Sá cost just as much as him, despite Arsenal being the best defence in the league in terms of xGA.

However, you might be better off with their outfield players as his ceiling is comparatively much lower, averaging just 2.47 saves/90.

That said, if you are looking for a route into the Arsenal defence then Ramsdale is a simple and rotation-proof route, unlike their defenders who may be prone to rotation now that Arsenal have signed Jurrien Timber.

Gabriel (£5.0)

Many were surprised to see him priced at 5.0 for good reason. Last season, no defender racked up as much as his 5.03 xG, with only Fabian Schär coming anywhere close.

A menace from set pieces, he tops Zinchenko in both xG/90 with his 0.14 to Zinchenko’s 0.06, and should be more nailed as both Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber look to take over Zinchenko’s inverted wing back role.

He provides good defensive coverage as Arsenal have a sublime run of early fixtures, facing five of last seven’s weakest attacks in terms of xG over their opening seven and is arguably the best 5.0 defender in the game.

Gabriel Jesus (£8.0)

At 8.0, he is yet another seemingly underpriced Arsenal asset when you look closer at his data. With 0.76 npxGI/90, he had the fourth highest npxGI/90 among regularly starting forwards which is certainly strong at his price tag.

Whilst he now faces completion from Havertz, Nketiah, Balogun and Trossard at striker, he should still be the starting striker for Arsenal and if he can avoid injury he’ll once again be a great pick, being a somewhat more obvious forward option for gameweek one when there aren’t too many stand out forwards this season.

Gabriel Martinelli (£8.0)

Perhaps slightly overlooked being the least owned of the starting Arsenal attackers, Martinelli comes in at £8.0m which is cheaper than the likes of Martin Ødegaard despite having slightly better data with 0.59 npxGI/90 compared to Ødegaard’s 0.53 npxGI/90.

Whilst he may not be as hot on expected minutes with the likes of Leandro Trossard fresh on the bench, he is the starting left winger nonetheless and should play 80+ minutes a game of not the full 90.

Scoring the most non-penalty goals of all the Arsenal attackers, at a modest 15% ownership he could prove to be a safer option for managers looking for an edge over other FPL managers.

Bukayo Saka (£8.5)

Surprisingly, his data is the worst of all the Arsenal attackers at 0.50 npxGI/90. However, this doesn’t mean he was somewhat obviously underpriced at £8.5m.

He is the likeliest for starts and 90 minutes among all Arsenal attackers, facing competition from just Reiss Nelson and potentially Kai Havertz, and is also the designated penalty taker for Arsenal allowing for more potential goals and more potential hauls.

At his price and considering Arsenal’s run of fixtures, he is simply the best Arsenal asset all things considered and he is probably already in your team.

Arsenal Betting Guide: Games and Outrights

Arsenal Betting Guide: Games and Outrights

Would you like to bet on the Gunners, but never really understood how betting markets work? Now let’s have a look at the most relevant betting markets for you to have fun and maybe profit from your knowledge about footie and The Gunners.

Essentially, the betting markets are divided into match result bets, which is a more specific form of betting focused around a specific game, and long-term markets that are called outright markets.

The most popular betting markets of football (soccer) are those focused on the events of one single game, like a derby between Arsenal and Tottenham, for example.

The odds are calculated by the bookies and the markets according to several factors. In the past, this was related to the form of the teams more than anything else. These days, the punters try to anticipate what will happen based, for example, on injury news, which is highly related to factors like the health and fitness staff of the club.

As there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work these days to make sure a team is in top form, the preparation of a team involves things coming from the manager such as the tactics and formation, up to the best tricks of the fitness staff such as telling a player things to do for muscle soreness in order to heal and be ready for the next challenge.

The richer clubs usually have a bit more structure, but any club in the Premiership will count on some very good staff to make sure their valuable players are ready to face each match of the calendar, both the 38 games of the EPL and other fixtures such as domestic and international cup games.

The punters usually follow the team news as a very important factor, and the good work of all club members makes a difference at the end of the day.

Now let’s have a look at the basic betting market odds and how they work

Match Result Odds: 1X2 Market

The most popular betting market out there is the 1×2. In this system, the punters try to guess what team will win, or if there will be a match draw. The match draw is represented by the X, while the victory of the hosts is represented by ‘1’ and the visitors ‘2’.

Odds are multipliers, and the most popular system for them in the world is the decimal one, although in the UK the fractional odds are also quite popular.

So if the odds for the next big game of Arsenal are 2.0 for a victory of The Gunners, this means you can earn 100% profit. So if you bet £10, you could win £10, as the bookie would pay you 20 pounds, the ten from your stake returned plus the profit.

Outrights Betting Odds

The outright odds work in the very same way. However, the bookie will only pay you after the season ends. So, if you bet on who will win the Prem before the season, you’ll have to wait until the next year, after a team lifts the EPL trophy. Right now the odds for a triumph of Arsenal in the ongoing season are 1.70 on average.

Premier League Outright Betting Analysis

Premier League Outright Betting Analysis

The English Premier League is considered one of the most popular leagues in the world of football, with millions of fans around the globe. As the competition progresses, football enthusiasts are taking a keen interest in the outright betting, which is placing a bet on a particular team to win the tournament.

This article will discuss the current situation of the English Premier League outright market, focusing on Arsenal’s current odds of winning the tournament.

Arsenal Leading the Outright Market

As of March 2023, Arsenal is the favourite to win the Premier League according to the outright market, followed by Manchester City. The average odds for the Gooners title after so many years is of 1.91 on most international bookies, while the odds for another title of Man City are between 2.10 and 2.25 depending on where you bet.

Manchester United is the only other contender with odds that indicate some actual chance, at 15 to 1 on average right now. All other teams including Newcastle United have odds of 150.0+ in the European decimal system of odds.

If you’re a beginner in the world of footie betting, the outrights market is interesting because we can compare it with another national passion: horse racing betting.

In the world of horse racing, much like in the outright market, we can bet on several teams to win the market and still make a profit. The reason behind it is the big odds paid, which reflect the fact that often we have lots of contenders with viable chances, which allows us to bet on more than one selection.

This is especially the case of the Premier League, where several teams have some chance, unlike leagues like the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 where FC Bayern and PSG normally have very low odds which kind of is a deal breaker to bet like in horse racing. While the odds of Man City and Arsenal aren’t quite big now, it’s still possible to bet focusing on a team with lower odds and bet a few pounds on teams with giant odds to make sure that if an unlikely event happens, you’ll profit anyways!

If you’re betting for example in events that are traditional in the UK, Cheltenham festival tips and general information about horse betting are ways to learn how to bet on this market. Let’s say there are 5 horses with odds bigger than 7, you can bet £10 on all horses, and if just one of them wins, you’ll win £70, which will cover for the losses of the other four, resulting in a net profit of £20 while you have the fun of betting on several contenders simultaneously. The outrights market is just like that.

The Premier League outright market and horse racing have a long list of potential outcomes, making it exciting and challenging for punters. Punters can bet on the top four, top candidates, top goal scorers, etc. With so many options, it is easy to get carried away, and punters are advised to exercise caution and conduct thorough research before placing their bets.

Summary: EPL Title Betting Scenario

Arsenal and City have the faith of the markets, and the odds are now closer to 2.0, but there are still some that believe in an unlikely title of Man Utd or a miracle title of other teams with odds bigger than 150. Another Leicester miracle, for example, could pay 4500 to 1, although as of Round 26, that doesn’t seem to be the case really!

Arsenal vs Everton – Betting Preview

Arsenal vs Everton – Betting Preview

Not for the first time this year, contentious VAR rulings threatened to endanger Arsenal’s title hopes when Leandro Trossard’s incredible goal against Leicester was overturned before Harry Souttar went unpunished for a blatant foul on Bukayo Saka in the area.

Arsenal Preview

Gabriel Martinelli’s goal early in the second half gave Arsenal all three points back and temporarily gave them a five-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the table. But, Arsenal was not to be denied at the King Power Stadium.

Due to Bournemouth’s 4-1 drubbing by the champions, the margin has now been narrowed back down to two points. But, Arsenal still have a game in hand, and Arteta’s team has rebounded magnificently to their minor setback with back-to-back victories against Villa and now Leicester.

Arteta’s current squad could now become just the third Arsenal team to reach 60 points in their first 25 Premier League games with a win here – the 2003-04 Invincibles and 2007-08 team are the only previous ones to achieve that feat – and the new manager bounce appears to have firmly worn off for Everton.

Everton Preview

Emiliano Martinez, who played the villain against Arsenal a week prior, was one of the heroes for Aston Villa against Everton on Saturday. Everton paid the price for failing to capitalise on their early control with goals at Goodison Park.

Ollie Watkins opened the scoring from the penalty spot with 63 minutes remaining, becoming the first player in Villa history to score in five straight Premier League games. Emiliano Buendia then settled the game in the closing seconds with a magnificent finish.

Everton’s failure to secure a third straight home victory and subsequent tumble into 18th position, despite Leeds only being one point better off, made for depressing reading for the team. Good wins for West Ham United and Leeds United also made for gloomy reading for Everton.

1×2 Betting Odds

Let’s analyse the 1×2 betting market.

With a professional performance and a return to winning ways at the Emirates, Arteta’s team should be better prepared for the difficult physical battle that awaits them in midweek, they should be able to win this one and have a five-point advantage at the summit!

And the market largely agrees, as Arsenal are the favourites to win @ 1.38.

Everton cannot reasonably expect lightning to strike again against the Gunners, despite recently being one of Arsenal’s bogey teams, especially given their dismal goal-scoring record on the road!

With many problems, Everton are the underdogs @ 11.00.

The market odds of a stalemate and points shared between the two, stands @ 5.40.

Total goals over/under

Let’s analyse the over/under market.

The odds that the total number of goals scored will be over 2.5, stands @ 1.89.

While the odds that the total number of goals will be under 2.5, stands @ 2.07.

Sean Dyche will make it difficult and rugged for Arsenal to come out and play their smooth flowing football, but even then Arteta and co should do enough to crack the puzzle and get all 3 points.

So perhaps expect a low scoring encounter, but also expect Gunners to be top of the table with a 5 point lead.

Arsenal stay atop the Premier League table despite tough tests in recent weeks

The Gunners’ 4-2 triumph over Aston Villa helped them resume their Premier League championship defense, and their first victory in four games came just when their schedule was starting to get tougher. With the victory over Aston Villa in a six-goal thriller, Arsenal snapped a four-game losing streak in impressive fashion and reclaimed the lead in the Premier League standings. The Gunners entered the game with low confidence and their chances of winning the title dwindling after one draw and two losses, one of which was to Manchester City. However, Mikel Arteta’s team kept that from happening at Villa Park with two late goals.

Arsenal, which has been at the top of the league since the early part of the season won their game-in-hand at a crucial time when they were on a troubling run of four games without a victory overall. Arteta now needs to find a method to inspire his team ahead of the game against Leicester City to see if they can duplicate their rekindled effort against Aston Villa. The Gunners regaining form has increased the confidence of bettors who place wagers using Football Betting guides, to make the best choices.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have both performed at a high level for Arsenal’s assault this season, which has also been spectacular and has clicked into full gear. Since Thomas Partey’s injury, new addition Jorginho has successfully filled the void left in the midfield trio of Granit Xhaka, Martin Odegaard, and Thomas Partey. Saka has been in fantastic form, laying a solid framework for Arsenal’s offensive approach.

The tactical adjustments made by manager Mikel Arteta are responsible for the Gunners’ success this season. This season, Arteta has taken a more practical approach, emphasizing possession and full direct play. Arsenal’s victories over Chelsea and Liverpool serve as instances of how successfully this strategy has performed against elite opposition.

There has been a lot of optimism among fans about Arsenal’s strong start to the season as they believe the team can keep up its momentum and contend for the title. Fans will be excited to see Arsenal snap their lengthy trophy drought after the team’s last Premier League championship in the 2003–04 campaign; the year of the Invincibles!

Conclusion

Following several difficult tests, Arsenal is now leading the Premier League standings after a solid start to the 2022–23 campaign. Particularly outstanding have been the team’s attacking displays. The tactical adjustments made by manager Mikel Arteta have been crucial to Arsenal’s success this year, with a more practical approach paying off.

The growth of Arteta

Start to life at Arsenal for Arteta did not come easy. Joining Arsenal on December 22nd 2019 after spending 3 years as Pep Guardiola’s antirave, Artetas first season was plagued with uncertainty from the fans. Only managing to finish in 8th place and rack up 61 points after 38 games, live stats by Sports Loci.

Arteta inherited his Arsenal team from previous manager Unai Emery on December 20th 2019, a club arguably on a 15 year decline and that hasn’t seen success since the legendary Arsene Wenger. Previous to his appointment, Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach, joining Manchester City on July 3rd 2016 and learning under Pep for the next 3 years, helping them win countless trophies with the team.

His first season at Arsenal resulted in similar results to Unai Emery’s side. At times there were lows, his job came in question many times in the media during bad runs, but Arteta managed to hold on and see his way into the light.

The team was in disarray struggling to find a way for star expensive signings to even play, but now seems to be a cohesive unit. Arteta has consistently fielded a similar XI, speaking towards the consistency Arteta is managing this 2022/2023 season.

Arsenal’s playing style this season is one to be marveled at, combining teachings of Cruyff – whom Arteta played under in his early days at Barcelona = and Pep Guardiola. Oleksandr Zinchenko is a brilliant example of this, cutting in from the left hand side into the midfield to provide an extra attacking presence, much like Barcelona and Manchester City.

The Role of Transfers

Arsenal have only signed players under 23 years of age since a previous tendency to only sign veteran mature players on big contracts or no players at all, spending very little under the last years of Arsene Wenger. The years after Arsene Wenger saw more money being spent but haphazardly on star expensive signings that did not give results. like Nicolas Pépé.

Since then the signings under Arteta have been more thoughtful catering to the tactical plan he wanted to carry out. This can be seen in the signings of Gabriel Jesus, Martin Ødegaard & Oleksandr Zinchenko who have all been brilliant in their start to life at Arsenal.

EPL Trophy

Arsenal are currently 1st in the league after 19 games played, sitting comfortably above second place Manchester City by 5 points with a game in hand. After a amazing start many wondered if Arsenal would be able to carry on with their momentum or if the start of the season was just a lucky run, but after 19 games and 20 games to go, they seem to be sitting in a great position to potentially win Arsenals first EPL trophy in over 10 years.

Gabriel pokes fun at Aubameyang after Arsenal win against Chelsea

With a thrilling 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal reclaimed first place in the Premier League.

The victory across the capital and the fact that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a miserable reunion with his former employers were both made possible by Gabriel Magalhaes’ second-half goal, which also helped the Gunners move two points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City.

There has been a lot of discussion between the Chelsea and Arsenal camps since the final whistle against the Blues. Following the impressive victory of the north Londoner, here are some noteworthy headlines from Mirror Sport.

After the Gunners’ victory over Chelsea, Gabriel, who had just scored the game-winning goal for Arsenal, took a cheap shot at Aubameyang, a former teammate.

The Gabonese, who recently switched from Barcelona to the Blues, said in the lead-up to Sunday’s match that it was “not personal.”

Gabriel tweeted: “NOTHING PERSONAL.. ” after using that as justification to celebrate the Gunners’ victory. LONDON IS RED,” with an emoji of a red heart.

With their victory in West London seeing Arsenal reclaim top spot, Rio Ferdinand has suggested that the “togetherness” in the current squad could see the Gunners push on for the Premier League title.

Speaking after the win against Chelsea, the former Man United defender said: “I’ve seen something with this Arsenal team. Are this team the real deal? There’s something there, togetherness, you can smell it in this team. The way they celebrate.

“There’s an authority of how Arsenal are playing under this man Mikel Arteta. How many times did we look at each other when a phase of play happened and it was all because of the way that Arsenal were making them moves on the pitch.

Whilst both Gabriel and Ferdinand went down their own routes in responding to victory, Granit Xhaka’s thoughts forced broadcasters BT Sport to stage a live apology.

The Swiss let an x-rated statement slip during his post-match interview in front of the Arsenal faithful at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “You see the atmosphere, it’s f****ing unbelievable!”

Once he had been reminded to watch his language, Xhaka continued: “Yeah, you can see the atmosphere is unbelievable. I mean, from the start until the end, I think we deserved to win today.”

Arsenal missed out on transfer target this summer to another Premier League club

It has been revealed that Arsenal missed out on a player to Manchester United earlier this summer.

Edwin van der Sar is a name that is known to most in the football world due to his ability between the sticks; being an inspiration for many growing up when he was playing for their reason of wanting to play in goal.

He now finds himself in an important role at one of the clubs he was a star for, as he is the current Ajax CEO, and it seems he may have inadvertently helped out another of his former clubs at the expense of Arsenal, even if it was not directly linked.

According to the CEO, the Gunners had put in an offer for defender Lisandro Martinez long before Manchester United had, howeber it had been rejected.

Speaking to The Times, he revealed: “It was our opinion they (Lisandro Martinez and Antony) should stay for another year.

“We gave a firm ‘no’ to Arsenal when they came first for Lisandro; we fought hard to keep him.”

Indeed, the defender has been impressive at United since signing this summer, as he has helped to make them a little better at the back, which has led to many opting to use the available Bet365 bonus that is possible to acquire when placing their bets on the matches that involve the club.

But, have Arsenal really missed out? Or, are they doing as well as they could without him in north London?

Many had known what to expect from the Argentine when he arrived, as he had been a star for Ajax, although he did not come without his criticisms. For instance, many continued to pick on his height and say that his lack of height would be an incredible problem.

However, as mentioned, the Gunners actually appear to be doing rather well without him. The likes of Gabriel – who recently just signed a new long-term contract – and William Saliba are looking exceptional in the middle of the backline, while we have seen Arsenal continue to compete at the top of the league.

Of course, there is no doubt that he has been good, but Arsenal certainly appear to be fine without him. Some may still be wondering what could have been depending on how the Premier League season comes to an end, but there is no point looking back on something, especially when the two centre-backs at the club currently are performing as well as they are.

The FA continues to investigate the incident between Gabriel and Henderson

During Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, defender Gabriel Magalhaes was spotted exchanging words with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

After Gabriel Jesus won a critical penalties, which Bukayo Saka converted for the Gunners, the Brazilian got into a confrontation with Henderson.

Referee Michael Oliver brought the game to a halt as he hurried to the sidelines to speak with both Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp.

It’s believed to have related to a dispute that occurred in the penalty box during a tense encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

Witnesses stated that the confrontation had subsided by the time both sets of players arrived in the tunnel, but new video has emerged showing the pair continuing to exchange words after the initial incident.

According to The Mirror, the Football Association (FA) has engaged the services of specialist lip readers to analyse footage as they continue their inquiry, while players who were nearby during the intense brawl between both sides may also be asked what they saw and heard.

In a video shared on Tuesday to the Tasty Football YouTube account, both sets of players embrace quickly after the final whistle, with Henderson initially high-fiving England colleague Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel hugging fellow center-back Virgil van Dijk.

Gabriel and Henderson both fade out of view before reappearing briefly as the two shake hands, albeit for a brief moment.

Following the handshake, the Liverpool captain attempted to get the Brazilian defender’s attention, involving Roberto Firmino in the conversation to seemingly encourage Gabriel to talk to him, with Klopp also in the vicinity and talking to Gabriel.

The outcome of the FA’s investigation is still yet to be concluded, but both clubs have vowed to follow the FA’s disciplinary procedures on the matter.

The FA released a brief statement after the match, which read: “We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Arsenal and Liverpool. We are in dialogue with the match officials and will review the details of the incident.”

Arsenal finished the 2021/22 season in fifth position, ahead of Manchester United, but behind a resurgent Tottenham team led by top manager Antonio Conte. However, Arsenal assets impressed in the 2021/22 season, with players like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Ramsdale, and Ben White giving fans something to cheer on about.

Arsenal has already made significant summer purchases in their quest to return to the Champions League this year. Gabriel Jesus, one of the best moves for the London club in recent memory, acclimated to Arsenal’s playing style right away and did a fantastic job of playing the main man in the attack. How Arsenal just saved spending £30m in the January transfer window

Here is how the Gooners have saved themselves from spending money in the market!

Arsenal’s pursuit of a centre midfielder was widely publicised during the summer transfer window. Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans was one of Edu’s top objectives.

During the transfer window, it was reported that the Belgian was interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium and that he would be ready to wait out the final year of his Leicester deal before making a decision.

However, if a rival made an offer this summer, Arsenal would consider it.

Due to a lack of depth and quality in the midfield, the Gunners wanted to buy a midfielder, and it was rumoured that Tielemans would be available for £30 million.

However, a deal failed to materialise. According to Sky Sports, Mikel Arteta’s side ‘cooled’ their interest in the Belgian towards the end of the window.

So far this season, it has shown to be a gift in disguise, as not only has Tielemans failed significantly, but Charlie Patino is beginning to show why he is highly regarded at the club, and there is potential for him to salvage a midfield slot.

Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are two players that are now untouchable in the team. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohammed Elneny are the two reserve players, but their quality levels do not match that of the two starters.

Instead of wasting the dough in the January transfer window, Edu may be patient and wait for Patino to obtain the necessary experience before next season.

The 18-year-old demonstrated his immense talent during his senior debut against Sunderland last season, capping off an outstanding substitute cameo with his first senior goal.

This led to Arteta singing the praises for the youngster, saying: “He’s [Patino] a player that has a lot of personality. I’m delighted for him because he’s a kid that we like so much. To have his debut and score like that is something special.”

The promising teenager is now on loan at Blackpool for the remainder of the season, gaining important experience and getting acclimated to the physicality of first-team football, which will be crucial when he returns to the Gunners ahead of next season.

And the kid has had a good start with the Seasiders, which was highlighted by his debut goal against Millwall last weekend.

If the youngster continues on this path, it will demonstrate why Arteta was correct not to spend big money on Tielemans, and he might save £30 million by believing in Patino’s abilities.

What are Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League?

Arsenal Football Club, one of the Premier league’s top clubs, are one of the favorites to win the Premier League in the 2022/23 season. Having won 13 league titles in the past, the club impresses with exciting football, which has been their philosophy for years. They have garnered fans from all over the world who watch their matches and bet on them on secure and reliable sites, in which you can find asiabet8888.com, where fans in China have the opportunity to utilize the best sportsbooks.

Arsenal FC have hit the ground running in the 2022/23 season, winning 5 out of 6 matches, which have them placed at the top of the Premier League table. Fans of the club can only wonder if they can keep up that momentum and go all the way to winning the league, ending an 18-year drought. With that said, here are Arsenal’s chances of winning the premier league in the 2022/23 season.

It’s difficult to imagine a clearer contrast between Arsenal’s start to the 2022/23 season and their start to the season before. The Gunners lost their first three games of the previous campaign, with Mikel Arteta’s side needing four games to net a goal. Arsenal has 15 points out of a possible 18 after six games this season, and they are currently in a very intriguing position. Following an impressive transfer window that saw them sign two Manchester City players in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, William Saliba has returned from a loan spell with Marseille and other players, they had a successful pre-season campaign, winning all 3 matches. Spirits were high at the Emirates at the start of the season, with the same momentum taking them to the top of the table.

There is still a long way to go in the season and it would be exceedingly premature to discuss a title challenge, but there are indications that Arteta’s strategies are beginning to bear fruit. Arsenal has been proactively on and off the ball in their victories, showing evidence that he has created a team that can compete against the top teams in the league. After losing their first match of the season to the first top 6 side they have faced in Manchester United, the toughest tests are yet to come, and fans can only hope their beloved Arsenal can stand strong. Currently, according to statistics, Arsenal has a 6 percent chance of winning the title, which is considerably low compared to Manchester City’s 66 percent.

Conclusion

Currently, Arsenal are in the driving seat of the league and can see fierce competition from Manchester City from the rearview mirror. If they can maintain their form and beat top teams, they can go on to win the league.

Giroud predicts the top four for the Gunners

Olivier Giroud, a former Arsenal great, thinks that the Gunners will finally get a return to the Champions League this year. Giroud is presently signed to AC Milan, but he gained notoriety at the Emirates Stadium following a fruitful five-and-a-half-year stint. Before being pulled across the city by Chelsea in an unexpected transfer back in January 2018, the striker spent this time with the club, scoring 105 goals in 253 games. Giroud grew acclimated to Champions League football while living in north London

Giroud was still at Arsenal the last time the team qualified for Europe’s top tournament, but the club’s abilities have substantially diminished in the years following the 35-year-old’s departure. According to the Premier League odds at the online platform Sportwetten-vergleich.at. Arsenal has a 2.47% chance of making it in this year’s season.

The situation has improved under Mikel Arteta’s management, and last year, the Spaniard came agonisingly close to clinching a return to the Champions League. However, a collapse in the season’s last weeks gave Tottenham the opportunity, and they edged out their sworn enemies to finish in the top four.

Arsenal has had a fantastic start to the season this time around. Before last weekend’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United, the Gunners had won five straight games and were atop the Premier League rankings.

And Giroud is sure that Arsenal is now in a position to end their prolonged exile from the Champions League. He said to Sky Sports, “I’ve also been following my Gooners, and I think it’s going to be another fantastic year for them.” When asked directly if he thought Arsenal would finish in the top four this season, Giroud responded, “Yes, absolutely. I hope so.

His remarks came only a year after he claimed that Arsenal’s unwillingness to spend considerably on transfers would likely hurt their hopes of regaining their place among the best of Europe, even though they spent more than any other top-flight team last summer to revamp their roster. Giroud responded to the question of when Arsenal will again finish in the top four: “Wow, that’s a great question! I think Mikel Arteta has time to get back in the top four.

He continued by saying that money is a significant factor. The issue with Arsenal is that they might not put forth as much money as their competitors, which could then hamper their challenge for a place in the top four and ultimately, a place in the UEFA Champions League next season if they do not win the UEFA Europa League.

Arsenal face Swiss side in their first European game of the season

Zurich welcomes Arsenal to Letzigrund on Thursday, 8 September, in a Europa League match. Premier League giants Arsenal travel to Switzerland to take on FC Zurich. Looking to rebound from Arsenal’s loss at Man Utd on Sunday, Arsenal is expected to turn up the heat in their Europa League group A opener away at Zurich; At the same time, the Gunners will field a changing squad; they should still have far too much firepower for the opposition. We reckon that Arsenal’s second-tier side, too, would be too much for FC Zurich and will eventually succumb to 3 goals, not to mention scoring a goal and taking their total over 2.5 goals.

FC Zurich has scored only four times in 7 league games this term, and Arsenals will be confident in keeping them out of this one. Arsenal, however, is currently sitting atop the Premier League table and has been coming to the fore of this season’s table. With the power Mikel Arteta is likely to carry from the bench in the last 20-30 minutes, Arsenal should be able to take three points on the road to open the groups. Arsenal has never played a game against FC Zurich and will be cautious about upsets in an important match. Despite controlling much of the game and looking better, Arsenal dropped their first points of the season.

Still, Arsenal made the trip bragging about a 100% success rate in their previous matches against Swiss sides, six wins out of six, with forgotten man Lucas Perez scoring a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory against Basel in the 2016-17 Champions League. If Mikel Arteta leads the club to just its third continental crown while pushing the leading team in the Premier League to a place at the top, significant progress has been made. Mikel Arteta’s side returned to Europa League action after finishing fifth in England’s Premier League last season and are currently bookmaker’s favourites to make it all the way. Arsenal started their League campaign well, and although they fell to a first defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, they sit comfortably at the top of the table after six games.

Marquinhos and Matt Smith will likely make their FC Zurich debuts, having been included in Arsenal’s senior European Championships squad. At the same time, if Nketiah takes over from Gabriel Jesus this week, it will be aimed at finding the back of the net for his third consecutive Europa League start. Fabio Vieira’s cameo over the weekend left Arsenal supporters giddy, and I’m sure it pleased Arteta as well. Starting at his favoured No. 10 position would provide him with the ideal opportunity to do what he does best: create.
